What a Lady!

On Saturday November 5th, she will celebrate her 85th birthday! Yeah!

She gave birth to seven but hundreds have called her Mama over the years!

She overcame a broken home during her childhood and became the best mother ever!

She never settled for excuses, choosing to teach her children right from wrong.

She never let us think we were poor but taught us to be thankful every single day.

She lost the love of her life at the age of 53 and has called Jesus her husband since that time.

She learned how to drive at 44, proving that it’s never too late to get your license.

She can give the best back rubs ever, just ask anybody at Living Waters Worship Center!

She is the most honest person I know; we call her Anne Frank!

If you want to know the truth, hang around her long enough and she’ll gladly tell you a thing or two.

She is so proud of all her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren…….

She tries her best to remember her family’s birthday and is usually right on the money!

Speaking of money, she’s taught me to give my children a card with a check equal to their ages.

Her favorite show is “Wheel of Fortune,” followed by “Jeopardy” and “The Price is Right.”

Vanna and Pat Sajack, Alex Trebeck, and that guy who took Bob Barker’s place,

They would be so tickled to know a little old lady is their most faithful viewer!

If she could have them for dinner, she’d probably fry some chicken and fix her famous potato salad!

While she’s not able to get around like she used to, she still loves her “Golden Group.”

Meeting monthly with senior guys and gals keeps her spirit soaring high!

Most of her friends have long left this place for the great beyond,

But she loves to recall the good old days when she hung out with Aunt Clara, most of all!

And now she delights in spending a day with Aunt Mercedes and Aunt Delores (we call her Sook);

They all have some physical challenges, but their love for one another is priceless!

I may not see her everyday, having moved to Georgia.

But the highlight of our day is spending time on the phone chatting about everything imaginable!

Yes, she’s a special lady!

That’s why I’m thankful for the one and only Ann Elizabeth Rollins!

I am grateful God has allowed you to hang around for me and countless others!

You are special, Mama! That’s why we all love you so!
